Mindfulness & Compassion-focused therapy.

Trauma-informed, integrative approaches tailored to your unique mental health goals.

Hi, I’m Dr. Terra Dafoe

Hi there, my name is Terra Dafoe and I am a registered clinical and counselling psychologist. My approach is grounded in the principles and practices of mindfulness and compassion-focused therapy. In session, we use these guiding values and practices to support increased self-awareness and acceptance, as well as find new ways to relate to your inner experiences with curiosity, kindness, and compassion.

My services

  • Psychotherapy

I offer therapy to individuals over the age of 18. These sessions are confidential in nature and often take place weekly or bi-weekly, at least for the initial few sessions. The duration, frequency, and focus of our work will be determined collaboratively during our initial session and can be modified over time.

  • Supervision & Consultation

I offer supervision and consultation to members of other regulated health care colleges who are looking for support and training in professional development. These sessions focus on modifying and/or incorporating new psychological insights and/or diagnoses, as well as those looking to expand their knowledge of trauma-informed, mindfulness-based psychotherapy.

Safe, inclusive, and collaborative.

Together, we can support increased self-awareness and acceptance, as well as find new ways to relate to your inner experiences with curiosity, kindness, and compassion. I embrace diversity and work with individuals with varying cultural, spiritual, sexual, and gender identities.

Currently I am conducting all sessions remotely.

Our mutual safety is my first priority. All sessions are currently conducted securely and remotely. In the future, I intend to return to in-person sessions in my downtown Toronto office while continuing to offer remote services.

    Dr. Terra Dafoe, PhD

The clients I work with are diverse in both their backgrounds and presenting concerns. Many of the individuals I work with are having difficulty managing the demands of daily life. Sometimes a new baby, a demanding career, a difficult relationship, or past trauma. I often find myself supporting people experiencing the effects of stress, anxiety, depression and post-partum depression/anxiety, parenting challenges, relationship difficulties, as well as complex mental health concerns such as psychosis and bipolar disorder.

Above all else, I believe the most important contributor to successful therapy outcomes is the therapist-client fit.
